In 2020, SOMME characterized the sounds emitted by the work tests (trenching and drilling) of the offshore wind farm project in the Bay of Saint Brieuc.

The SOMME team is now ready to work safely in an offshore environment, having validated the GWO Basic Safety Training of the FMTC which includes the modules of survival at sea, first aid, fire fighting, working at heights and manual handling.

Our research activities at Spitzberg presented in the France TV report “Les conquérants des poles” by Emmanuelle Sudre (2P2L). Since 2013, SOMME has been monitoring ambient noise and marine traffic.

SOMME was commissioned by the “Commission Nationale du Débat Public” at the request of “France Nature Environnement” to develop a state-of-the-art on the sound impacts of EMR installations and to present it during the public debates of Tréport , Noirmoutier and Ile d’Yeu wind farm projects.
